SINGAPORE, 11 October, 2019 — Award-winning plant-based joint, VeganBurg marked its 9th year on 10 October 2019, in pioneering Singapore’s fast casual and food technology landscape. In celebration of this milestone, VeganBurg donates $5000 to a nationwide tree planting campaign in India held by Isha Outreach Foundation.

Fully committed to its core identity as a sustainability and community empowerment movement, VeganBurg commemorates its 9th Anniversary by pledging over 6,200 trees along the Cauvery River of India to transform the lives of 84 million people and the land’s sustainability.

“Anniversary is a time for VeganBurg to be reminded of why we are here in the first place. We are not just a fast casual restaurant, but we are also a global environmental movement. This donation represents our commitment to keep fighting for our planet and an invitation for customers to join us in restoring the world, one burger at a time,” says Alex Tan, Founder and CEO of VeganBurg.

This partnership encourages fans of VeganBurg to be a part of the planet restoration movement, by pledging through the Cauvery Calling fundraising page provided below (80c/tree). In addition, customers of VeganBurg can also make a contribution by purchasing a burger.  With the proceeds being donated to the campaign, every burger they purchased is a pledge for at least 10 trees in India.

About Cauvery Calling

Cauvery River has been the source of wellbeing, prosperity and the very source of life for India. Due to the mass removal of trees in the past 50 years, this forest-fed perennial river is fast becoming a seasonal stream. Cauvery is drying up, soil is being eroded and farmers are suffering. Cauvery Calling is setting the standard for how India’s rivers – the country’s lifelines – can be revived. It will initiate the revitalization of Cauvery river and transform the lives of 84 million people by planting trees along the river bank.
